When Igor Stravinsky premiered the legendary ballet The Rite of Spring in 1913, there was an uproar from the audience. The innovative rhythms and dissonances combined with Vaslav Najinsky's provocative choreography, drew strong reactions and loud discourse. News of this ground-breaking, modern piece made many headlines, so we wanted to emulate the design of a newspaper when designing this concert print. The subject matter of this ballet centers around pagan rituals, so we also wanted to incorporate some music and pagan-inspired symbols.
Each print is printed using an Epson UltraChrome printer, using water-based HDR ink-jet technology. All prints are glicee-printed on durable, matte paper and are archival-quality.
